BossDweebe
Yes it does matter what mod as there are different issues with different mods. If you don't know if your game is patched, and you installed the game yourself, then it is a safe bet it isn't. If you are using the GOTY version than it is patched if not -Get patch 1.2.0416. Get the correct one for your region (U.S. - U.K.).Also, if you have Shivering Isles then you use the SI version of the patch. You don't use both. Have you activated the mod ? You can activate from the load screen, butOBMM is best. Does the mod require OBSE ? If so get OBSE and follow instructions. If none of the above helps then you need to look into how you are installing the mods, but one thing not to do is just extract to your Oblivion Data folder. Always extract to afolder outside the game. Then you can copy/paste or move the files to the data folder. If nothing else this will keep your game clean of a lot of unnecessary Read Me's and screen shots. bben46
I have a set of help files for people who are not computer geeks and are new to mods. They include downloading, extracting (unzipping) installing and activating mods. I have included a simple mod to practice on and instructions for installing and using 7-zip. If you are interested, click on the highlighted link below to be taken to the site where they are kept. I recommend starting with #1 and working your way through them. http://s1.zetaboards.com/TheStormRavenLibrary/forum/256092/ If you use them I would appreciate some feedback as to what needs improvement and what works for you. Please be honest and don't worry about hurting my feelings with criticism as I have a thick skin.

Cold101
Hmm, these seem like pretty good tips, if none of those work, try looking at this. If you can't find anything that works in there, I reccomend reinstalling oblivion and play fall out while you do that, when it is done installing, try it again, and if it doesn't work. I will eat my shoes. (I actually tried before becuase it didn't work, it is very hard to eat shoes. It was around in 8th grade in the whole class, everyone laughed, they thought I wasn't serious. Serious face here. :l) Also, it is possible, if it is installed in program files, you might need admin rights to do that, if you had 7-zip you wouldn't need admin rights to move files.
