mechine
Naw man Use patch 1.5 plus FO3edit's master update Or 1.6 plus FO3edit's master update or just 1.6 Around 1.0.35 -1.4 the SLI support stuff got added in. Update the drivers every so often use the Nvidia recomended settings for SLI the rest you can set to your specs I've recently turned Fallout 3's AA an AF setting off to perfomance then went into the Grapics card interface to force AA an AF to whatever I wanted Seems like with using fallout 3's AA and AF I was getting some laggy frame rates Part of that laggy stuff is sort of built into the game though when you run mods and high settings. Turning off Fallout 3's AA an AF also cleared up the shaddows an texture filtering. Stuff like shaved heads or bushes, just about anything would get these random awful textures, like dotted really bad, making it look poopy really poopy so I would have to turn up fallout 3's AA an AF to twice the default setting just to get it to go away, which caused more laggy stuff, I could turn fallout's AA an AF settings off (performance) but the sort of low res textures in fallout didn't pop like they should, which meaned I would have to download the high res textures of nexus which would slow the system down further than the double AA an AF settings Then thankfully I remembered the Nvidia settings, and forced 8X SLI AA an like 4X AF or somethingan just left fallouts AA an AF turned off (performance) which fixed itBesides the fallout 3 game settings don't have a setting for 8X SLI AA or 16xQ SLI AA and so on I'd kind of like to turn it all the way up until the laggy stuff comes back, but I'm too busy having fun. Did you go into your BIOS stuff to set the PCI-E an SLI stuffs? Also you should know that most of the games settings can be turned down to halfway before you even start to notice It's old but it's a great guide to the settings an tweeking http://www.tweakguides.com/Fallout3_8.html
Harabec Weathers
Hey just a small updateMy apologies in advance for any bad spelling, Im a little drunk lolBut yes, since I hooked up the SLI I have been getting total random system freezes and a flickering sky when HDR is enabledWhen the system freezes, everything is unresponsive, even keyboard. As for the flickering sky, when looking into or around direct sunlight or light prducing odjects, the lighting will flicker wildly. Ever heard anything like this? I have fully updated Nividia drivers too and 3D Mark 03 is pulling a 45000
mechine
Yeah I've heard peeps talk about it, don't remember what it was. I haven't used 3D mark anything for geez 6 months or more. All those settings are set to use the globals there is Fallout3.exe in the list, but even that points to globals. single display performance mode? mechine
Idk if it helps, I use these settings right now. You know how it is though read stuff an change stuff hope for the best Nvidia settings 4x AF 8xSLI AA, AA transparency off, conformant texture clamp-Use OpenGL specificationExtension limit-offForce mipmaps-none/offMax pre rendered frames-3Single displaySLI-recommendedTexture filtering-Anisotropic sample op-onTexture filtering-Negative LOD bias- CLAMPTexture filtering-quality-PerformanceeTexture filtering-Trilinear Op- On Tripple buffering- On Vertical sync-Use the 3D application setting (might work better to force it an turn off Fallouts) Also some guy a while back said he kept messing with settings an having problems with SLI So he rolled back the driver an I think even turned SLI off to get fallout 3 to workwhich I thought was total poop. He obviously had a problem in settings. But yeah SLI works great with Fallout3 provided you use the more recent patches mostly I mean past 1.0.35-1.4, but really 1.5 an 1.6 are the only good onesI'm a big fan of FO3edit's master update applied on 1.
