Zamanar Posted July 21, 2009 Share Posted July 21, 2009 hey guys i just wanted to ask u guys something i really need help with. it staarted when i was moding, i went to add the files to my oblivion data folder when i notice everthing has been deleted including the oblivion .esm!so i tried to check it out . i pulled up the launch for oblivion and clicked data files.it said that it idnt have any data files and had to be uninstalled. so i clicked uninstall and it cam up with a box that tolsd me it had conflict with an emulation software or something like that and told me to visit a website called securom.so im wondering wat i should do cuz the cite is not helping at all,i cant uninstall it and i cant play it .somebody plz help immediatly! -Zamanar Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
bben46 Posted July 21, 2009 Share Posted July 21, 2009 Securom is the company that makes the anti copying program that is used on the CD. It reacts to several legitimate no CD programs such as alcohol which it claims can be used to pirate the game. If it sees one of these programs it will refuse to allow the game to install. There are presently several ongoing lawsuits against them as even if you remove the game, their software still remains behind to give you problems. You can thank the pirates for making these kind of programs necessary to protect copyrighted material. I have never heard of it actually uninstalling anything though.
