Artimise
Hello, I was wondering how hard it is to make a custom weapon (ex. HK G36c Assault rifle) mod be used by an npc. Essentially I like the idea of having certain weapons, such as an M4 or SVD Dragunov, but I would really like to see them used against me as well. So the primary question is, would it be hard for someone who has close to no experience in geck to make it so that a mod gun is used by NPC's. Any help or whatnot would be highly appreciated. PS By the way, all the guns use vanilla ammo, so I don't think there will be a problem with it needing ammo from special mods or whatever.
t3hf4ll0ut
Yes, actually. It's easy. The easiest way to do it: -Set the weapon mod as your active file.-Open up the NPCs edit menu-Go to the Inventory tab-Right click and select new-Add the G36 Harder: -Make a new .esp-Load meshes and textures-open NPC edit menu-Go to inventory tab-Make a new item (right click - new)-Go to G36 in the scroll bar. Artimise
Awesome, um, I should really say, I have absolutely no idea what i'm doing in geck, could you please help me out with what it is i'm supposed to do? Another question about mods, would be, certain weapons use custom ammo, like the Danwesson magnum. How hard would it be to make a mod that makes the bullets fly faster, like a mod that makes the vanilla ammo fly faster. EDIT: How do I add the item, when I go to new, it comes up as abraxo cleaner, please help. I looked at the geck site, but it doesnt really help. Artimise
Ok, so I think I got it. Do I simply need to add items to an npc that has Template in the name and it will apply to all other varients of the npc? or is there more that I need to do. Also, how do I make an esp file? Skree000
drag n drop :) you should make a new esp file if you want your changes to not alter the core game (not reccomended!) when you hit save for the first time with no active data file selected, it should prompt you to name your plugin file (esp)

The NPC's with Template in their names are basically just that - what you change in these will be changed in whatever NPCs are using that template as their base through inheritance. Keep in mind your change will only affect the NPCs that use that temlate and that there are a lot of different templates for each group of NPCs. Raiders aren't just based on a common raider template for instance, they are based on handful of templates with different equipment loadouts, AI packages and other attributes depending on their role.
