mods with the best voice actors

All mods with voice acting are great , just for the fact that people are actually willing to spend timen making them

the quality isn't always good , but they did it anyway and it enriches the game

a good example we all know is vilja in skyrim

her scandinavian accent just fits right into skyrim , some of comments are hillarious and i love it but the other voice actors , well just to say it sometimes sound too forced to really be immersive and her questline is sometimes more a pain in the butt than enjpyable , but they still got my appreciation for actual doing this

there some other followers mod from the with custom voices and thou it is basicly a vanilla follower in all rspect the custom voice just adds that little bit extra that makes them great

like inigo

which is brimmiant in all aspects

and this one

a pretty underrated mod but because it has a different voice than most other mods it makes it just worh it for me

I did indeed admit that I'm very anal about voice acting in Skyrim mods, yes. Which means I'm very particular about which voiced mods I do and do not use. Yours isn't for me, that's all. As I said, I'm picky. In fact, Inigo is the only voiced mod I've found myself able to use for any length of time or for more than one playthrough. That hasn't made any other follower or other voice acted mods any less successful, however.

Perhaps I should consider my opinion more carefully. My "objection" (for lack of a more appropriate term) is based on naked ear comparison to existing Skyrim accents, which as you say are rather inconsistent with real world Nordic/Scandinavian accents. If you say her accent is genuine, then I'm sure it is - I'll admit to having little experience with such accents in real life; but I don't feel it fits Skyrim, personally. That's just me though. I'm genuinely pleased for you that you managed to find a voice actor who so closely matched your vision of the character you intended to create. Please, don't allow the fact that I don't care for the accent, or feel that it sounds "genuine" to Skyrim (again for lack of a better term) do anything to diminish your satisfaction with your, or her, work. I apologise if my opinion offended you - it was not intended to do so.

Ok, that's fair enough. I misinterpreted your message but I'm glad you have found a follower that works for you. She is a lot more complex than any standard follower though as I'm more of a scripter myself.

@Wholegrain - Yes there should be more voiced follower mods but I think ones like Interesting NPCs have a different goal in mind so really fall into a different category altogether and as I said above they are not easy to pull off with consistent quality. Also the workload of a single NPC who has as many lines as what several voice actors would do and the time spent working with the voice actor means you need to find someone good but also committed.

I have not actually played Bioshock. Well I have but not fully as I never actually owned any of the games but that's pretty cool if there is someone who sounds similar. I will probably make more followers for future TES titles or possibly the next Fallout, but with a follower mod as large as Sofia it would make sense to just expand on her.

I totally agree. I would rather have average voice acting in a mod where someone has tried their best than no voice acting at all.

Ive been using Interesting NPCs for a long time and never met NPC that was badly voiced. Inconsistency is only if some are good and some are brilliant.

You are always going to get voice actors who are better than others and people who have a more expensive mic than others, and with mods like Interesting NPCs the inconsistency becomes more apparent as they are all put together in one mod. As you say though none of them are bad at all, at the very worst just average.

As someone who has released a fairly successful voiced mod, I can say that I feel voice acting is much preferable to mic quality. Sure, having a pro setup is great but, if the actor doesn't have a feel for the character, all you get is someone reading lines. Unless your actor has access to a recording studio and a professional actor , no one can duplicate the quality Bethesda has for their main characters.

From what I have seen and heard so far, I feel Sofia will be a wonderful addition to Skyrim. I can only envy djjohnjarvis.

Thanks. Your voiced Thorald follower does look very promising and is well acted but I haven't got round to trying all these other great follower mods because I spend more time modding Skyrim than playing these days. Someday I will get round to another proper playthrough that isn't just for testing.

In my opinion the voice acting is definitely more important but the quality has to be to a certain level. I'm talking at least a basic USB mic level not necessarily high end but tinny or distorted voices tend to give me a headache after a while which really takes away from the acting. it's rare that any are that bad though as anyone who hopes to be a credible voice actor usually has at least a youtube quality mic.
