simonp92
It's rare people offering their service, usually they ask or make requests. Well, I want a horse cart if you can make it, and IT'S POSSIBLE. (like a chariot, perhaps) Please make it if you can. Thanks if you make it. if youve watched the last video, which i assume you have - you will see that it is not possiable.. well prehaps with OBSE and new animations, which i dont asumme the OP can do.. spikies
I know this is not the place I should post my questions, but hopefully, someone will direct me to the right place. I've been tempted for some time to make a mod, but lack the time to mess with the construction set. I am however, quite good at 3d modeling, riggin, posing and texturing, so the horse cart, as requested above is a very simple task for me, but since I've never modelled for a game before, I have some questions. First, my intention is to assist people or groups already into modding, in creating new and unique items for mods for the joy of the whole community. Why? Well... I must admit, I'm hooked with Oblivion. The theme, the era, ever since the very same concept first showed up a few years back with the "Ultima" game series. I just love the the game. My questions: Since my models are for a different market they are quite heavy in polygon size (in the 50,000++ polygons), what are my limits in terms of polygons for use in Oblivion? What would be the best 3d format for your conversion needs?Where can I get answers without being reffered to read hundreds of pages of text? Thank you in advance for redirecting if necessary to the right place. :thanks: Sample model... made for a friend pitbull's breeder website (robotic bully in the jungle):

simonp92
Since my models are for a different market they are quite heavy in polygon size (in the 50,000++ polygons), what are my limits in terms of polygons for use in Oblivion?- 50 K++ is way to much for oblivion. but it really depends on what kind of thing you are making. For exsample; a cup with 5k verticles is to much, but a sword with 5K is okay. What would be the best 3d format for your conversion needs?- Hmm, I think the OBJ format might be the best. otherwise prehaps 3DS. but it would be best with a NIF-file. TheTerminator2004
What would be the best 3d format for your conversion needs?- Hmm, I think the OBJ format might be the best. otherwise prehaps 3DS. but it would be best with a NIF-file. Oblivion only accepts .nif files, but I believe there are several converters out there. I don't know how good any of them are, but check out NifTools - I believe they have a selection of converters, and more importantly, plugins for popular modelling applications. spikies
Thanks to both Simonp92 and The Terminator. I've downloaded the 3ds max pluggin from NifTools and The NifSpoke itself just in case. Also found out how to compress textures to dds. Now I guess I'll have to extract some bsa files to see what works well in terms of size for amor, weapons, buildings and such. Never thought it would be that easy. So what's next? The horse cart? Swords?
