Glitchipedia
I'm trying to create a traveling merchant (i.e. an NPC that offers services without a physical shop), but even with "Offers Services" enabled in an AI package, all of the "Buys / Sells" options are grayed out. What am I doing wrong?
Deleted3619564User
You need to choose a npc merchant class. Only some classes can offer services.
Glitchipedia
I already tried that, it didn't make a difference.
Deleted3619564User
Have you set a base gold value for the npc?

mysticcro
Ok so you made a new npc, you set his class to merchant, you enabled offer services A.I What about..Merchant Container, you are aware you need merchant container and put stuff in it, that you wish him to sell, of course there are more then one merchant class..or i should say categories, one will only sell some things, some can sell others, some can sell all depends on what did you set him to sell..and do not forget you need to LINK the Merchant with Merchant Container.. If you did all that , and still you are having troubles, be sure to respond here again i can make a mod like this for you, so you can open it up and see how things are done. :)
Glitchipedia
According to the tutorial I'm following on the Construction Set Wiki, I should be able to choose all the merchant's settings long before creating a merchant container. The fact that I apparently cannot set it up the way the tutorial describes is what's got me lost and confused. I'll try it the way you've suggested and let you know what happens. Deleted3619564User
Very strange, i can create merchants without problems. Are you using the cse?
Glitchipedia
I shouldn't need the CSE for my purposes. By all accounts, this should be an incredibly simple procedure. I have no idea what's going wrong. I've assigned the merchant container and everything now, but the stupid thing still won't let me check any of the "Buys / Sells" options. I'm beginning to suspect a glitch. EDIT: Never mind, I discovered the problem. I was trying to make her level with the player; apparently merchants aren't allowed to do that.
