Character creation.

I always seem to end up being a warrior type character. Could someone please suggest a new type of character, different skills, race, star sign etc. to give the game a new feeling..

What recommendations do you have.. can you suggest anything that'll work well.

Thanks in advance.

Well I would have thought you could choose one yourself. If you want a challenge set difficulty slider to 100 and go for magic based skills only and then proceed without armour and using only hand-to-hand. Avoid casting any magic spells and don't do any training at all. That should add a little extra difficulty for you.

Alternatively if you just want another type of ordinary boring old character, mage or thief are the obvious examples.

Of course the only mongrel with hand-to-hand is that you never really kill an enemy... actually that might be a good thing when you're robbing someone, but not when you're trying to kill a dagoth...

Best thing you can do though, i create your own class, or download a mod for one that someone has made and make up your own skills, make your staring blade, bow or any melle skills at 5 and set your mage skills high? One of the downfalls of morrowind was that you could never live the whole game through as a theif or a mage.. which you could in previous games, this is what would possibly make it more challenging.

Here is an idea for you.

Class: Baker

Specialise in:

Alchemy (Ingredients)

Short blade ( Breadknives)

Blunt weaponry (Rolling Pins)

Mercantile ("Muck Bread! 3 gold! A bargain at any price!")

Speechcraft (Hi! I'ma da friendly baker! How you doin' todaya?")

Hand to Hand (For combating that stubborn dough)

Hmm...perhaps some destruction or illusion spells. (In case your pastries are kak.)

There you have it. There is a cooking mod out there and I'm sure you can find a cooks outfit somewhere as well.

GOOD LUCK TO YOU NOBLE BAKER.

Actually if hand to hand is high enough you can kill people. I kill Rieklings that way too. Haven't tried it on a spriggan mind. They collapse with exhaustion and you have to beat them to death while they are collapsed. That might upset some of the fairer minded but it certainly works.

Go with a mage. An Altmer born under the sign of the Atronach is good for power spellcasting. Don't worry about the stunted magicka or the weaknesses. There are easy tricks to minimize them. Here is a guide with some good suggestions:

I recommend that you keep a favorite weapon and a favorite armor skill since they are fun and very useful even for mages in Morrowind. You will soon be able to dispatch enemies quickly with your magicka alone.

It's not impossible just difficult. I have never made a decent mage for that matter. Theives yeah now and again but like most people i excel at making warriors, but duh we all can!

IMO Redguard's and Orc's make the best fighters but thats just me. Also Dark Elf's are pretty insane as well.

My newest character is Elinalwe, a High Elf born under the Atronach. Her trade is Battle Witch. That's my customized version of the Battle Mage class.

Elinalwe just cleaned out Ilunibi and defeated Dagoth G without using any physical weapons. She used her powerful fire, frost, and shock damage spells on some of the evil cave dwellers. Conjuration spells finished off the others.

Elinalwe has a spell called "Minions" that summons a ghost, a skeleton, and a scamp. She casts Minions and then follows it up with a least bonewalker, and a second ghost, scamp and skeleton. The bad guy is now being mobbed by six or seven minions. LOL

She is a good alchemist and carries a veritable pharmacy of custom potions in her bag.

She did take the precaution of wearing a full suit of Imperial steel and silver armor into Ilunibi. She also took her enchanted Daedric katana "Life Drinker" along just in case. She'a a Mage but she's not fanatical about it.
