Vastly more health than displayed maximum

I've run into a rather game-breaking bug in Oblivion recently, and I think one of my mods is causing it, but I can't figure out which one or how or why.

Essentially what is happening is that my character's actual maximum HP is 1992, but on my character display sheet I am supposed to have a maximum of only around 514. While it's awesome that I have so much HP I can walk around and fight anything without having to worry about dying, it is REALLY taking the challenge out of the game.

When I use the player.resethealth console command, my health resets to 514 as it should, but as soon as I use any spell, potion, or item which restores health, my health begins shooting past 514 again.

Using player.setav Health to a lower number has also been ineffective, as even when I set my Health to 0 my maximum health is still well over 1000.

Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this? This is a fairly recent problem I've been having - within the last week or so. My mod load order looks like this:

Difficult problem. You mentioned one important clue though. The problem has only been around a week or so. Have you added any mods in the last week or so? If so, try removing all the new mods and adding them one by one, carefully noting when you have the problem and when you don't have the problem. If you have not added any mods in the last week or so, then have you played any new mods for the first time in the last week or so? (For example the mod has been on your computer for a month, but a week ago you met the strange old man, went on the difficult quest, and acquired the powerful ring. You may have activated a part of a mod you had never activated before.)

Hopefully someone has some more helpful advice than this.

The nightmare repair option is to remove half your mods. If problem is still there remove half of your remaining mods. Etc. Etc. until the problem goes away, then reinstall mods slowly and painfully one by one until the game breaks again. Upon locating the defective mod, complain to the author, and perhaps post a comment warning people about the ill effects of the mod. With this mod, some people would like being extra tough, but people should have the choice to use it or not use it and not be in a fix like you are in.

Yeah, I think this may be what I have to do. Unfortunately I imagine it will be quite tedious. I have already tried uninstalling / disabling what mods I enabled recently, and it didn't help, so I am guessing it might be a latent problem with a mod I've had installed for awhile now that I'm only just now running into... Fantastic...

I have found an interim solution, though. I put a Drain Health 1400 enchant on my armor, which brings me down to where I am supposed to be. Obviously not an ideal solution, and crude, but it'll work for now.

Of course this means as soon as I get the problem fixed I'll instantly die if I'm still wearing the armor...
