jclinford
Every time I level and get to the part where I choose my perks the game freezes. Then I ctrl+alt+del and stop the program and it says "not responding" so I close it. This happens basically every time I level. I tried searching through here and trying many of the fixes for the standard CTDs but I was wondering if it was something different because for one none of these fixes work and also this only happens right when I select my perk, and click done. I am running Windows Vista, Nvidia 9800 with the newest drivers (190.something), 4 gbs of ram, a quadcore intel (q6600 I think its called) cpu. This never happened when I was playing the game on vanilla so I'm thinking its a mod issue but I've tried everything to try to fix it but to no avail. The mods I'm using are, in this load order: fallout3esmanchoragebrokensteelthepittpointlookoutcalibr.esmfook.esmMMM.esmEnhanceweather.esmFellout-full.espfellout-anchorage.espfelloutbrokensteel.espfelloutsotd.espfelloutpointloikout.espMMM.espMMMtoughtrader.espMMMnaturalselection.espMMMAnchorage.espMMMthepitt.espEnhance Weather.espProject Bueaty.esp3eFdrgplate.espFook.espFook-anchorage.espFook-Anchorage hotfix.espFook-broken steel.espFook- The Pitt.espFook-point lookout.espMMM-Fook.esp That is everything I have, in that load order. If anyone has any insight on what may be the problem, hardware, drivers, mods, load order, etc, please please help =) Greatly appreciated thank you. VerbalEarthworm
i can think of a few things it could be: when you you choose this perk that makes you crash, you must be on the Level Up menu. the freezing can happen when you are at the maximum level (20 or 30), for various reasons. instead of closing the game through Task Manager, open the console ingame and use: CloseAllMenus (or cam, for short) this should at least allow you to continue. unable to say more, as i can't be sure that is your problem, but it might be worth installing mods like "Wasteland Mastery" and "Max Level Workaround" if you haven't done so already. jclinford
Thanks for the help. I think I was able to fix it another way though. If anyone else is having this problem downloading and using the Fallout 3 Unofficial Patch appeared to solve the problem. Haven't had a crash for about 3-4 hours of constant gameplay.
