ini tweak for stuttering?

Recommended Posts

Is there a setting in any of the ini files that reduces stuttering when buildings come into view? I run a large address aware exe, have 8gb of ram and a q9550/gtx 285 with view distance decreased and I still get stuttering when buildings/terrain load, especially in springvale near the school for some reason. Any help would be great.

Thank you. I've seen that one and used a lot of it's ideas. However changing the cell buffer, I think it was, caused problems for me. At least I thought that was the tweak that would work. What tweak in that article are you referring to? Thanks.

The memory and multithreading section is good. A lot of testing, Ive discovered that that certain settings like Transparency Multisampling, Water Refractions, Water Displacement, and Depth Fog options available in the start up screen can have adverse affects on performance. Water Displacement and Transparency Multisampling were too much for my little 9600s to handle.

My 8800 GTX ran with full shadows, all settings nearly maxed but my card died and now Im using two 9600 GTs, so Ive had to sacrifice a lot of graphics for performance lol.

Try playing with those settings I mentioned above
