Akrid Posted September 14, 2005 Posted September 14, 2005 you'll have to change the Default controller settings of Max5 to avoid export crashes while animating: the Position controller are to be set to either TCB , BEZIER or LINEAR instead of the default 'x,y,z positon' ... Rotation controller same thing ( default is EULER X,Y,Z) , and same thing for Scale controller (default is already bezier , which is fine) I need to do this I think cause im trying to export a animated file into .nif and max5 crashes. Does anyone know how the freak I change defoult control settings?
Akrid Posted September 15, 2005 Author Posted September 15, 2005 well I see the menu thingy for control settings under animation, but it dont do anything
Akrid Posted September 17, 2005 Author Posted September 17, 2005 Never mind, I contacted about 50 billion people about this and Ive found that max5 dosnt export morphing the same way max4 does. Nobody has been able to tell me how this may be corrected other than getting max4. However I thought that face animation was done with morphing, and I've read people claiming that they used Max5 for faces. I wonder why this is?
smuli Posted September 17, 2005 Posted September 17, 2005 I asked this same question a couple of years ago in elderscrolls.net forums and someone told me that exporting animations from max5 works randomly once out of ten tries or so... I must've tried to export my bow animation 20 times and it always crashed though. I agree that you should accept the fact that you can only animate for morrowind with max4 :(
