Questions about FOSE

Artimise

Recommended Posts

Alright, I'm not entirely sure how it works. When I started up FO3 by using the FOSE loader or whatever, I didn't have any of my saved games. Is this because it doesnt work with Windows live? If so, that mean I must start all my games over again? and what of the mods I use? can someone please clarify this?

Unfortuently as FOSE doesn't allow the use of GFWL as it'd most likely ban your account due to illegal modification of the game core itself. As your GFWL saves are in "Profiles" so to speak, you cannt access them when not logged into that profile. HOWEVER; There is a work around to this, firstly find the following folder though this is on Vista it may differ with XP or W7.

"C:\Users\<your username>\Documents\My Games\Fallout3\Saves"

In that folder you'll find additional folders corresponding to your GFWL folders for example...

"C:\Users\<your username>\Documents\My Games\Fallout3\Saves\Artimise", open that folder and you will find your save games simply select them all, copy them (or CTRL+C) and paste them to the "C:\Users\<your username>\Documents\My Games\Fallout3\Saves" folder and load FO3 with FOSE, you will now have access to your save games without needing to log into GFWL.

Nooo, you take the saves you coped from (e.g) "C:\Users\<your username>\Documents\My Games\Fallout3\Saves\<GFWLAccountName>" folder and place them in the C:\Users\<your username>\Documents\My Games\Fallout3\Saves" folder. Look at the folder-paths i quoted, understand now?
