Adding/changing audio files for guns?

As the title says, I was wondering how hard it is, and how I would go about adding/changing an audio file for a weapon. Ex. Chinese assault rifle. If I wanted to change it so that it sounded like it had more of a punch, would it be very hard for me to do that? I currently have a mod in which allows me to use and M82 Barret sniper rifle, but to me the standard audio sound for when it fires just doesn't have enough "oomf" to it. Ultimately I wan't to try and record the sound from Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare's Barret, and replace it in Fallout. Any help, or tips would be appreciated.

Thankyou in advance for taking the time to read this.

Oh, yeah, that'd be easy. Assuming you've got the GECK editor, just go to the object tab, miscellaneous, sound. Record your sound, convert it to MP3 then whack it somewhere in the data files. Then, save your new sound by giving it a new ID, preferably starting with 'z' so you know where to find it; at the bottom of the list. Then, find your gun, and change it's sound from the drop-down tab and select yours. There you go, good luck. :)
