SpeedyB64 Posted July 27, 2009 Share Posted July 27, 2009 I have taken a short break from the Phoenix project to make this mod.What it does, it adds lights to most of the street lights and signs found in the DC ruins, the lights turn on and off every day at 7:00 PM and AM.It makes the DC ruins much more fun with Fellout's dark nights. (Fellout highly recomended) I have made flickering lights and added glow maps to several things such as, the subway escalator lights (flickering) and the lamp posts next to the canal. SpeedyB64 Posted July 27, 2009 Author Share Posted July 27, 2009 I'll try that out and see how it looks. I'll try to make the radius larger and fade out better with distance. I'm currently finishing up the last couple districts I should get it out in the next few days. If I have time before I leave on vacation I'll make a small quest to go to the traffic control center and turn them on. I also plan on getting a video up later tonight. I think some areas/streets could stay untouched, maybe? I can't quite agree with Tonya, or, well, I sorta both agree and disagree, maybe make 2 versions? Personally though I love the effect of having super dark nights in fellout and while lights are amazing I definitely don't want it to be easy to get round (but the screenshots look about perfect!) SpeedyB64 Posted July 28, 2009 Author Share Posted July 28, 2009 There is a performance impact since it adds a lot of lights, but its very small, almost gone during the day when all lights and FX beams are disabled. My computer sometimes has difficulty with fallout (gets laggy occasionally) so I can't reliably tell. If your computer is crazy good it would look even better with light distance set very high in the fallout.ini Also it looks very cool with the rain mod. (latest version is amazing by the way) I'm just finishing up Falls church and the cemetery districts then all DC districts will be done.I may get version 1.0 out tonight.
