Ruddager
I have been looking through multible guides and forums and FAQ's, but I really am confused how to get started installing mods. So far, I have downloaded 4 things... Fall out mod manager.Archiveinvalidation7-Zip And MMM (marty's monster mod) as the chosen mod to install. So, The steps I'm taking are:- Changing that bInvalidateOlderFiles=0. to =1 within the fallout_default folder (having to do this by taking the fallout_default folderout of the fallout folder so it will save the edit, then replacing it). Extracting Archiveinvalidation into fallout directory, and running it. Then, using 7-zip, I extract everything within the Monster mod zip folder, into the data folder. I then open up Fallout mod manager - now what? Nothing appears automaticly, and I know I'm ment to do something with something with theMart's Mutant Mod.esp/Esm folders, but what button do I use to locate them? Cheers in advance Andrew
VerbalEarthworm
if you havn't already, read this FAQ at Bethesda: http://www.bethsoft.com/bgsforums/index.php?showtopic=972878 basically, you need to install ArchiveInvalidation Invalidated and Fallout Mod Manager (FOMM) into your Fallout3 folder. extract the MMM zip using the 7zip, but extract it onto your Desktop. this is a recommended extraction. open the files you extracted and have a good look at them, always pays to know what you are installing. with the MMM files, you will see folders named "meshes", "textures" etc and .esp and .esm files (little red suitcases). now, you need to Copy and Paste all of the folders that accompany the littleredsuitcases into your Fallout3/Data folder, allow for overwrite (you don't lose previous stuff just click "yes to all"). then you need to choose which .esp files you want to use, in MMM not all of them can be used at the same time (MMM.esm must be chosen for it all to work) i recommend that if you have an older computer you install "No Corpse Flies" as they are laggy. Increased Spawns or Increased Increased Spawns, not both at once. Ghoul Rampage is fun. once you have chosen the .esp files that you wish to include in your game, copy and paste ONLY those into your Fallout3/Data folder (they just sit there in plain sight, do not put them into another folder within the Data folder, FOMM will not see it there). launch FOMM and you should see all of the .esp and .esm files in a list in the big window. using mouse-click-and-drag move Fallout 3.esm to the very top, then all other .esm plugins, including MMM.esm then all .esp plugins last. ensure that they are all ticked. then click the "Launch Fallout3" button, and Bob should be your Uncle.
