TheGoodBit
FOSE keeps giving me this error whenever I try to run it: "You have an unknown version of Fallout. Please check http://fose.silverlock.org to make sure you're using the latest version of FOSE, then send an email to the contact addresses listed in fose_readme.txt if this version is not supported in the latest release. (CRC = FE5B82AE)" I have the latest patch, I'm using v1.1 beta 8, and I put all the files (I think) in where they are supposed to be. Am I doing something wrong? I can't seem to find the solution to my problem anywhere.
obfuscate
The latest patch as in 1.7? FOSE hasn't been updated for that, as 1.7 just came out. I'm in the same boat. While 1.7 reportedly eliminates a good chunk of the random crashes, unless you want to temporarily uninstall FOSE, you can't play till FOSE gets updated for 1.
Cipscis
I've just mentioned this new patch in the FOSE release thread on the official forums. Hopefully we'll have support soon. I know it's a bit late for anyone who's updated already, it would be worth keeping in mind that until a new FOSE beta with v1.7 support is released, updating to v1.7 will prevent FOSE from working. Cipscis
A member of the FOSE team, ianpatt, has just posted this on the BGS Forums:I've hooked up support for 1.7, download: 7z zip. katashy
Im also having the same problem, I have patch 1.6, and I use the steam version of FO3, but the FOSE readme says it should work, and it keeps coming up with the error message. All the files ARE in the right place, but it doesnt seem to work.
Cipscis
I'm not very familiar with and potential issues with using FOSE in conjunction with the Steam version of Fallout 3, but if you asked about your issues in the "official" FOSE thread then I'm sure someone would be able to help you.
