Same situation can be dealt in a numerous ways. In the previous games, playing a stealthy mage was actually quite good, almost every requirement for thievery could be filled with magic skills, especially with some mods. Sneak around with invisibility, or simply walk around charmed enemys, make them fall asleep to take their stuff instead of trying to pick pocket, open locks with magic. Most of these things can be achieved in Skyrim as well, with various mods. However there is still one thing that is missing: Do ranged, stealthy damage with magic.I know there are mods which give sneak multiplier to destruction spells, but nuking someone with a firebolt and stay undetected is problematic as well. Also, you still can't use your poisons with destruction spells. A telekinetic spell should fill this gap: You equip an arrow, but not a bow. You equip this telekinesis spell (Alteration tree ofc) and cast it, like a destruction spell. Then an arrow flies at the direction you aim. This spell shouldnt make any noise, would be stealthy, and you could apply poisons to the arrow.
