r_Strela
I am maybe stupid, but i can't find any armor mannequins in Morrowind. I don't even know, what they look like. Can you tell me at least one exact location, where to find one? Thank you very much. And yes, i installed that mod properly. :cool2:
Malchik
Which mod exactly is 'that mod'? There are lots of mods that add mannequins and lots of kinds of mannequin. Go into the construction set and find the identity of a mannequin then add it via the console. In data files you need only check the mod that adds them. I have a feeling the mannequins may appear as npcs but I've never checked to see so that might be wrong. If you don't like cheating you can disable it afterwards. You should also be able to find out in the CS where to find them. It's hard to tell you what they look like. The most often seen kind are wooden 'men'. But you can get mannequins that resemble the different races 'live' (mental elf's mannequins), in various kinds of material (house of mannequins) and also 'invisible' so the armour seems to hang in the air (also HOM). There are other kinds too. Hope this helps.
r_Strela
'This mod' is called exactly Armor Mannequin(URL below)http://www.mwsource.com/files/details.php?file=213 I installed it and i cannot recognize any of mannequins. :/
Malchik
I have told you what you need to do. Open TCS, when it opens click data files and the list of mods etc will appear. Put a cross in the box beside armor mannequin esp and click done. Wait, agreeing to any intervening box that pops up. When it is finished there will be a clist of game item types across the top. Click NPCs and scroll down to 'manikin' (that is the spelling used). There are 21 listed, the first is unnnumbered, the others are 1-20, Highlight each one in turn and right click, check 'info' on the box that appears and it will tell you where the mannequin is. IIRC chris janossi was the first to create them and they are the original wooden ones. I checked a couple for you, in order 0-2, Arille's Tradehouse Seyda Neen, Ald Ruhn Guard Tower 1 and Nerano Manor Balmora. If you want any more I'm afraid you'll have to do it yourself. Service with a smile!
r_Strela
I am sorry for bothering you, but my ability to use CS is very much limited by my PC capabilities. I have opened Morrowind.esm and after 20 minutes i angrily closed it, because PC was working but nothing opened. Thank you for those three. At least i know what to look for. And i will find the others since i know what they look like. Thanks
Malchik
House of Mannequins is a good mod if you need mannequins. Alternatively when you have one of the wooden ones use the console to find its ID and then add them yourself with a command such as placeat pc"item code" n, 20, 3 where n is the number you want. You should be aware that as they are NPCs too many in one place can slow the game down. BTW - did I say you were bothering me? I can give you the full list if you want but I thought you might have more fun finding them.
r_Strela
Ok, Ok, slow down. How can i find its ID via console? I am real newbie in this. Too many NPCs on place causes that Game crashes on my PC(mostly when they are in action or attacking), so i rather wouldn't try it. BTW - It looked so. But i was maybe wrong. That finding of three of them was exactly what i needed. One would has been enough. P.S.: I am sorry, but is my English correct? I would like to know, if i do something wrong, because i am very interested in english and i want to improve.
Malchik
Okay, I have been there, I know the feeling! To open the console you press the key above the tab key (left of number 1 on most keyboards). A largish box opens called 'console'. Position the mouse above the object you are interested in so the name shows up in the usual small box on screen. Left click with the mouse. Where it said 'console' before it now gives you the ID of the object. It can be quite long e.g. "BM_wolf_snow_unique00000001". Everything in the game including the landscape can be identified this way. Obviously its main use is in constructing mods but it can help - if you have lost an essential item through carelessness, you can add it back; if you kill someone by accident you can click on the corpse and type resurrect. (For certain characters this does not stop them being 'dead' as far as other NPCs are concerned but for most accidental killings it works). Also you can use it if a door is blocked by a corpse. This often happens with the netch in the daedric quest for Malacath. Two netch corpses are spawned that block the entrance to the cave of Shurinbaal and they cannot be disposed of. When they are selected in the console type 'disable' and they are gone. As for how many mannequins you want it depends on the type of player you are. Some people collect every different piece of armour in the game and want to show them. There are some 26 standard full sets and 27 with bits and pieces. This does not include unique or enchanted armour pieces either (except the full sets of snow bear and snow wolf in Bloodmoon). You can lay them out on tables, put them in chests, even have display cases if you download the mod or you can dress them on the mannequins. If you want discussions on your English I'm happy for you to send me a PM or talk on MSN. (It it is not directly of interest to other forum members.) I find your English perfectly clear and understandable and that is what counts. It's better than some native speakers we've had posting here in the past. r_Strela
Ok, your explanation was very interesting. I use to think, console is only for adding items to game(because that's what every Cheater use it for) and everything else is managed through CS. And now i am sort of stunned. Because what you say is very good. But i don't think i will use it very frequently. Thanks for all help. And I have only about four full sets of armor, so i don't need so many mannequins.
