childeofmalkav
my Fallout 3 keeps giving me BSODs frequently, at first I though it was just my shitty unsupported card (Which constantly overheated) but I recently upgraded the card and the frequency of the BSODs just got up. it seems to mostly happen when I try to use the Pipboy but even if I dont use it its still crashing randomly. I tried switching graphics setting (turned up everything to the max after I got the new card) I updated my video card drivers, I removed all mods and DLCs but nothing helps. I still get the exact same BSOD (something about nv4 dll file) I am running Windows XP SP3, and using Fallout 3 1.5 I'm fairly sure its not a hardware or driver issue as all other games work perfectly well even though they are more demanding. I once had the problem but only after downloading new drivers, so I rolled back the drivers and it was fixed (DONT DO THAT IF you DO NOT have a problem with your nvidia drivers)Heres the linkhttp://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=4432 But out of curiosity, what were your other specs? It take more than a video card to run games these days. Gotta have your Core, RAM, cooling, motherboard, and power supply all up to snuff
childeofmalkav
Sorry to bump the old thread, just figured I'd post a solution if anyone else is having that problem. I dont know which one exactly did the job but After turning off Anti-Aliasing, Anistropic Filtering and moving the game to Windowed mode the problems vanished, and I didnt get even 1 BSOD after several lengthy game times. Hope it will help someone :)
