What would cause a mod to lag badly in game?

the mod is called Sniper Mod: http://www.nexusmods...as/mods/49805/?

I was hoping to modify it (With authors permission) so that all of the sniper towers have snipers in them. Unfortunately however the mod causes severe lag in game when activated. Until I figure out why I can't start this mod. Any ideas what would cause this mod to lag so badly?

some mods lag. do you want to know why it lags or how to fix it?

 

there are some general lag fixes. if the lag is in general, I would get rid of the mod.

 

I have freeside open and it causes too much lag for my taste but a) only in freeside and b) I can't uninstall it (well you can but it is not recommended)

 

I use PCB when I go there.

 

I have dropped more than mod because of lag. I quit using that awesome weather mod with radiation rain which I totally loved. used it for like 20 hours of gameplay. but guess what? game lag was WAAAAY less.

If you want to keep the mod, you either have to talk to mod author for help; get better at geck and do some fixes yourself, or decide to overhaul your performance issues in general other ways (mods/tweaks/etc)

thanks for the link. Would anyone be willing to test the mod to see if it also lags on their computer?

Downloaded and tested Sniper Towers on the rig in my forum signature. Sniper Towers didn't cause any lag for me. On lower end systems it will cause lag since the mod adds multiple NPCs around several of the towers.
