I recently got Skyrim on Steam, but it doesn't work. I'll press play on the launcher and then it'll just close the launcher. I tried opening the TESV.exe, but it gives me the (0xc000007b) error. I've tried to verify the cache, re-install and replace .dll files but it still won't work for me. Morrowind and Oblivion work - so can anyone tell me if there's something wrong with Steam, Skyrim or if my computer doesn't meet the requirements?

Try re-installing all the redistributables. Here is Direct X, here is Visual C++. Also go into the Skyrim folder (usually it's "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Skyrim") and install whatever you have in VC redist folder. After that do another verify cache with steam. See if this works.

If it still gives an error. Try to clean your registry (CCleaner is a good option).

Hope it helps.
