Khet
Alright, this has gotten me completely confused. My textures are appearing pure black in the CS (making this work impossible to complete) as long as I have the normal map files installed. However, it works perfectly fine in game, and as long as I don't have the normal maps in the folder the textures show up fine in the CS... Here's a few screenshots showing what I mean. Any idea how to fix this? And I know I could just leave the normal maps out until I go to release but I -really- don't want to do that. Having to install them every time I want to check it out in game would get annoying. Vagrant0
I'm not sure what causes this, or really how to fix it. At the moment I'm working on 3 theories. 1. Something about the format or way the normal map was exported is getting read wrong by the CS. 2. Something about the mesh itself is trying to show the alpha channel in the CS and not the normal map. 3. Something about the CS is misreading data from that mesh/texture. In most of my own cases where I've seen this, the alpha channel for that normal map was either black or mostly black. It seemed to always appear on the same mesh, or same parts of the mesh. Was not something I could replicate willingly on meshes that displayed right before. But I also havn't had it happen to anything like a whole tileset, so havn't been bothered enough to sit down and look. Sorry I can't be of more help. Khet
That's strange, because the normal maps that I'm using are from Bethesda's own textures. I didn't like the way my own maps looked in game so I just used Bethesda's (the problem occurred even with my own and bethesda normals) so I don't really understand how it could be a format problem nor an alpha. Only guess of mine is your third, the CS is reading the data wrong.
