Is there a way to make an npc not collide with the player?

So I made this follower and after a while of playing I've noticed that it gets in my way a lot. I know there are mods that make them move out of your way but I was thinking since the npc is small it wouldn't be to noticeable if you could walk through it but I can't figure out how to make this happen. So I was hoping to get some help from someone more experienced then I am or that knows if this is even possible.
