Quest Management - Upgrade Ideas (Change of Heart, Local Quests)

I suggest allowing a character to have a "change of heart" after starting a quest -- especially for those quests which the game itself sometimes pushes on the character just for talking to the wrong person at the wrong time. This would allow the character to hear the full story, seem to agree, and later to decide to drop the whole thing. This could be implemented in a basic form by simply making the quest as if it had never been started. (I'm no console genie, but I suspect this would be either StopQuest or perhaps ResetQuest).

In a more advanced form, it could put the quest into a third category called, perhaps, "Declined Quests", that would augment the two current categories of Active Quests and Completed Quests.

My second suggestion would enhance the interaction between the Quest Journal and the Skyrim map. Currently the map shows all active quests. I find myself often wanting to know what quests have steps to be completed in the immediate area, regardless of whether the quests are "active" or not. This forces me to visit the Journal, manually activate all the quests, look at the map, write down the 3 or 4 "local" quests, go back to the Journal and deactivate the non-local quests. Very non-immersive and also very time-consuming.

In it's basic form, the mod might simply have a toggle for "Show Local Quests" that would (1) Save the current active configuration, (2) toggle all local quests to "Active", (3) and display the resulting map. The inverse toggle would revert the Journal and map display to its previous condition. This would allow me to toggle local quests, pursue them using the map, and when it pleases me I could then turn off local quest display. I'm sure someone could come up with a more elaborate approach, but this simple feature would make the game a lot more immersive.
