I went looking for this mod, at this link:

http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=31288

Nexus redirected me here:

http://www.tesnexus.com/mods/31288

Is the mod gone, or is this Nexus's new way of going "Hurr derp!"?

I'm betting that I'm going to have 8 million people telling me it loads just fine for them, but it doesn't for me, hence my question. Thanks!

I don't get anything on either of those links. What is the name of the mod you are looking for? Might be easier to help if we knew that.

I think the 'tesnexus' links are pretty old - I took your mod # (31288), went to the oblivion nexus, looked up a random mod, and replaced the # of that mod with the one listed in your link.

Since the latest upgrade to the Nexus family of sites all of the old "tesnexus" links are broken. What I do is copy the final number portion of the broken link (in this case the 31288 part) and then click on my Bookmarks Bar Oblivion Nexus New Today shortcut. I always click on the Oblivion Mod Manager link to the right side of the New Today page (because I don't want to skew some recent mod's viewed stat) and then paste in the copied broken link mod numbers over OBMM's numbers.

Sounds more complicated than it is, but I will be happy if they fix the broken links some day.

They just changed the url structure. Fixing old links is rather easy knowing the way the new links are set up.

http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=31288

"tesnexus" obviously doesn't exist any longer. The only domain left is "www.nexusmods.com".

This is followed by the folder for the game, in this case "oblivion", then "mods", as there's also "images" and others.

Next is the mod id. It's the exact same as always, "31288", just no longer as a parameter to some PHP but again as another folder.

Whether it ends with a "/" and a "?" or not doesn't always seem to matter. But if you wanna play safe, let it end on "/?" every time.

Leading to:

http://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/31288/?

And done.

I can fix every old link exactly the same way, whether it be mods or images or even another game.

I fix my text files that I keep in each mod's download folder that way ... with the more recent ones using the http://oblivion.nexusmods.com/mods/ format it's just a matter of highlight and Ctrl+X the "oblivion." part and then Ctrl+V > Backspace > / right after the "mods/" part. I guess when I'm browsing I'm allergic to the keyboard more. :)

Still wouldn't hurt my feelings at all if they fixed it, but considering all the old Morrowind mods that have orphan links on the Oblivion Uploaded Files forum I probably shouldn't hold my ... hey wait ... that tune ... is it SuperTramp ... Dreamer ...
