Muezick
I have only recently begun playing oblivion, so far I love the game to pieces. I tried getting into it before but I was to obsessed with wow, but I am burnt out on wow right now and Oblivion is a welcomed change of pace. I am learning new and exciting things about modding, I have made it a specific point to stay away from mods that will 'break' the game play to much though, I want to experiance as much original content untouched as I can, so far I've only been downloading armor mods, hair, face, body, you know, things that will make my character more Aesthetically pleasing. My first character was a Thief mage, and finding gear for her was pretty difficult, but I managed(More like settled, hehe) There are so many outfits out there that are just, not to my taste i guess you could say. The point is, how my character looks is extremely important to me, I didn't get to play with barbie dolls when I was younger so here I am dressing up my game characters *giggle*. I have made a second character, she is a paladin and so far I've been picking and plucking single pieces of armor from multiple armor sets to create a look that I really like. This is what I have so far: http://i31.tinypic.com/2e1c2nd.jpg Neat isn't it? But being the girl I am, there are two minor things that stick out to me, I'm kind of nit-picky and they are minor. So I understand if no one wants to bother with this, but I would greatly appreciate it. The first one is the fact that the pants are actually light armor, so that conflicts with her paladin-esque armor-style of wearing all plate mail and saving the day, etc. Now, In my head I see this as particularly easy to fix, the differences between Light Armor and Heavy Armor, must only be a few different variables. But I don't actually know and it could be much more complicated than I am aware of. The second one, as you might have guessed, is the color incongruities. Particularly around the thighs, where the orange bands are. Now I know that is a texture problem and will be considerably more annoying to fix, so if you find yourself reading this and decide not to fix that one, I will certainly not blame you. But it would look so much neater if those orange leather bands were white in stead, don't you think? In a nutshell I could spend the time to learn how to do these things myself, I'm intelligent enough, but really right now all I want to do is play the game. I'll try my hand at modding later when I've played the game to it's fullest and if I am still in love with it, I will learn how to change and bend it to my will then. It would take me hours to locate software, research methods and learn these things myself, when I know there are hundreds of modders out there who already have the software downloaded, installed, and the know-how literally at their fingertips. So Before I spent several hours myself trying to make these minor changes,I thought I would come here and ask. And I thank anybody who did read this long wall of text that I am sure crit several users in the face for over 9000 when they saw it. Hehe, Below I've included, in what I believe to be 'the propper file system', The light, white armor that I found, from which I plucked the pants to make the greaves for her 'white paladin armor' set. It's the whole set sense I am not confident in my ability to understand the file structure of these mods, I included everything I could find from the original package that I felt might be related to those greaves, just in case there are any dependencies in the file structure. There is no need to change anything except the above, but if you want to, feel free. And of course, all credit goes to their authors, Exnem for creating such pretty armor for his body mod, and Infernus for plucking all the different kinds from the wide interwebs and putting them together for us all, I thank you both. (Warning, There are popups, sorry D:) http://www.mediafire.com/file/mjngmmgwzqu/Please Fix.rar Thanks everybody,Oblivion Newbie p.s. You can reply here with changes, or PM, but if you make only one change, and not both, I would appreciate it, if you could post the single change you made here, so perhaps another mod author could use your edited version to make the other change, if they so wished it.
