XBio_HazardX
I installed a Mod by extracting it directly to the oblivion/data folder (as the readme said) and no I have no way of getting rid of it, it's like the files have disappeared O.o... It doesn't even show up as a "Data File" when I start the game, so I can't just not use it, and uninstalling the game and re-installing it hasn't worked. Cassial
Try extracting the mod files to a separate folder, then manually installing all the files, overwriting where needed. Make SURE everything is in the right folder. I know I've made the silly mistake of putting ESM files in my Oblivion directory instead of my Oblivion/Data. bben46
Uninstalling the game does NOT remove mods from the data folder. When you reinstall, they will still be there. To manually remove a single mod, you must know everything that the mod installed. This includes all textures, meshes and sounds. Then you will have to go into the folders in the data folder and delete each one of these. OBMM has the OMOD format that will do all of the work for you - IF you install the mod as an OMOD to begin with. If you just dumped the extracted mod into the data folder, reinstalling as an OMOD will usually remove the non OMOD version. then you can disable the OMOD and the mod will be completely removed from the data folder. Ryder070
Do you use Vista?
XBio_HazardX
Yeah, i suppose that's not helping : ( Here's a thought...what if I just uninstall Oblivion and delete any leftover instance of Oblivion on my computer, then re-install it...that SHOULD work right? Then I can use that OMOD thing from here on out, since I didn't know of it earlier ^.^"
David Brasher
it's like the files have disappeared It doesn't even show up as a "Data File" when I start the game Maybe you did remove the unwanted mod. I don't really understand. If it is not there anymore and isn't bothering you, what is it you are still trying to do? I guess you have opened Windows Explorer and gone looking at the files in Oblivion\Data? You can move them to where they belong that way to make them function right, or delete any mods you no longer want on your computer.

No, I cannot find the files, but the mods (whole or partial) still show up! That's the weird thing. They don't show up as data files to check or uncheck (and never did) and I cannot find the files in the data folder, but the mods still appear in game. For instance I installed a body mod, didn't like it, and deleted all the instances of the files (I went so far as to uninstall the game and delete EVERYTHING bethesda related, and then re-install it, but part of the mod still remains, and that is that there are seams showing on the wrists, ankles, and neck)
