seeking aid with major crash issues.

ok so i use alot of mods and to my knowledge none of them are incompatible i think...but anyway for some reason no matter what i crash every 15-40 minutes. i have reformated 3 times in the past 2 weeks thinking that maybe just maybe it would help and it doesnt so could someone help?

I didn't look at your load list in-depth for any compatibilities, but I suggest downloading OBSE (found here: http://obse.silverlock.org/), and then installing this plugin http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=22282

 

That plugin is a great addition that adds a large amount of stability to the game, preventing many crashes.

 

If that fails, try installing Wrye Bash and making a Bashed Patch.

Crashes are Oblivion's way of telling you to take a break.

 

First, try disabling ALL background processes. Oblivion does not like something like an instant messenger trying to connect while the game is in progress. I have also seen programs such as antivirus trying to update cause a crash. If they are unsuccessful, they try every so often - even if you are not connected to the internet at the time.

 

Spyware is constantly calling home to report what you are doing (in the hope of finding a credit card number). so do a full scan.

 

Antispyware programs will often check every disk read and write, on a large enough read it could cause the game to pause or even crash. disable the scanning while playing

 

Autoupdate programs check at odd times for updates.

 

A slow load, caused by a fragmented hard drive can contribute to crashes.

k i thank both of you greatly. i installed the pluggin and i have turned off most everything with random updates, sadly never thought of that one *sigh* but ive just played oblivion for a straight 4 hours with no crashes. so thanks again =)
