I need help with making a simple mod.

I want to make a mod that DRASTICALLY reduces the amount of certain items that you get in Fallout 3 (stimpacks, drugs, ammo, These should be rare but I have over 100 stims and at least 40 types of every drug and an ungodly amount of ammo.)

 

I want to make surviving in a post-apocalyptic world exactly that. Even on very hard mode I get enough stims, drugs, and ammo to run my own freaking Wasteland Mafioso!

 

I am surprised that I am completely unable to find a (stand-alone) mod that does said function. Everyone I do find comes in a bundle-mod of stupid ideas and one really great idea (less supplies...)

 

I am new around the geck. whenever I fiddle with it it just crashes... If you can't tell me how to go about making this mod can you at least tell me where to find good tutorials that would actually help in this particular concept? (changing loot amounts)

 

To whoever helps me I will give them credit when I release this mod on nexus. although I doubt that means anything...

I think it's called loot lists.

 

 

Don't be silly, the forums are not for credit

 

whoever does the work gets the credit

 

 

Besdies this mod has been made a few times over

 

one in particular was very hard an sounded like they took

 

almost everything out of the loot list from the very start of the game on

 

 

Even still if you did make this mod, half the mods out there mess with loot lists

 

pretty much messing with a list is a big conflict cause across nexus

 

 

You could still do it if you wanted

 

 

 

I'd find one of the other mods that is out there that did it

 

then open that plug in with GECK an see what they changed

 

or open it with FO3edit, it would show where the lists are

 

if it's good enough maybe you could just use it an save time

 

until you think of how to make it better or your own nightmare version

 

 

pfft if you wanted you could just use the mod that adds weight to all items

 

which would make it more easy for you to not pickup 6000 bullets like a dork

 

just because it's there doesn't mean you have to take it.

 

 

 

 

I support you idea, it's the core of fallout 3 an why we like it so much.

 

I'm all for the pure detritus sifting you're concidering

 

 

However once you make the game harder via MMM, an 4-5 other mods for difficulty

plus the very hard setting, the amount of loot or what you need it sort of thrown out the window

because you are pretty much just trying to not die.

 

 

 

 

Look into those pure mods, also try XFO an FWE, the smaller mods won't conflict as much as XFO an FWE

Also get Real injurys an Primary needs they go hand in hand, and also add in a different kind of difficulty.
