MODinsane
Two things have been a major fix for my FPS ... the MOD SSME and FRAPS,. FRAPS is a utility, not MOD. FRAPS has a free version, so it functions well for what I want in Skyrim. Load up FRAPS after you load up Steam to start up in game for Skyrim. I use HiAlgoBoost right along with both of these and nice!
chanchan05
FRAPS is just an FPS counter and allows you to take screenshots and videos. It actually has an overhead, wherein your game is actually running 3-5FPS slower than it would with FRAPS turned off.
Elfriend
Right. SSME is a dream come true, but all FRAPS will do to your fps (besides record them) is to reduce them. MSI Afterburner is also free and I haven't noticed any fps hit.
Shubal
If you have Shesons patch you should no longer need Hi Algo. Replace it with ENBoost and live the dream.
CaffeinatedOrange
HiAlgo and Sheson's patch/ENBoost are hugely different things... Also, I notice no performance hit with Fraps, even when recording depending on the situation. And MSI Afterburner is awful for recording.
chanchan05
Depends on your game. I have over 240 plugins in my mod list, nearly 250. Unmodded Skyrim sees no difference when FRAPS is running, but if I try it now, there's a noticeable difference. Every bit counts when your game is intensive.
