What order should I play DLC??

I played through F3 on XBox already (loved it) and finally got it working for PC yesterday. It only took 6 hours (!!!) for me to download and install 1.7 patch.

Anyway, now I am starting my second game. A few questions:

1) I'm sure it has been discussed to death (I did a search, I swear!), but why would I want to blow up Megaton?? I know there's probably a cool animation and it makes you an "evil" character, but the safe havens in this game are few and far between. I mean it is a reliable place to earn cash and buy useful stuff. I just can't think of an upside beyond flipping the script on my game experience a little.

2) I am still only level two. I have all five DLCs. What order would you recommend I play them in? Are certain ones more geared towards higher level characters? I am playing vanilla on VH.

3) When do you get alerts for the individual DLCs? I'm pretty sure I loaded them all correctly, but I have only received quests for Lookout, The Pitt, and Broken Steel, I think (outcasts???). No word on Anchorage or Zeta so far. When do you get the quests for those?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Anchorage is the outcasts. Zeta, you need to find the crash site beacon. You'll know broken steel is working if it tells you your level cap has been raised to 30.

As for what order? You should probably level up a little and get some decent gear. Both anchorage and pitt can be tackled at relatively low levels. Anchorage, they give you all the weapons anyways, so no trouble there. Pitt is similar, you mostly have to just scrounge for weapons since they strip everything.

Broken steel, obviously you can't play till you activate the purifier. Point Lookout is geared towards higher levels. I recommend at least 15 and even then it's a fair challenge. Zeta, I'm not sure how much the characters are leveled to the player. I do know that the alien weapons are pretty damaging and some aliens have a shield device which makes them awful to take out (though to be fair I was wearing nothing but a lab coat). I'd say tackle that at a higher level as well.

If you want some god weapons, go with anchorage. It's pretty easy and has overpowered loot at the end. You get power armor training, and set of pristine power armor, and the chinese stealth suit.

As for why you'd blow up megaton? You get a suite in tenpenny tower, you get a bunch of caps early on. That's about it really. Plus you get to blow up megaton and turn moira into a ghoul.

Kudos. Thanks a lot. That's pretty much everything I wanted to know.

Although I do have one more question: I'm already finding the game too easy at level 3 on VH. I've never installed mods after starting a game, always before. Will I be able to play with FOOK and MMM now that I am a few levels in?? (I know I need to get the FOOK DLC files.)

Oh yes, definately. Mods normally can be installed at any point in a game. The only mods that really require installation before a certain point are mods that change existing quests or rely on certain quest stages that may have all ready been by passed. Don't worry about installing mods in the middle of your game because that's generally when you want them most.
