ecksile
How do i go about getting rid of the specular bug. I have skin that isn't supposed to be shiny but it looks like i laminated the gun the covered it in clear coat. how do i fix that I've tried different types of Normal maps darkening the alpha no alpha they all still come out glossy. I want the skin to be dull raw metal. The skin is supposed to be black but because the alpha its actually a light gray =/. http://i115.photobucket.com/albums/n298/outlaw_027/kusunagi/Fallout32009-08-0813-55-22-21.jpg http://i115.photobucket.com/albums/n298/outlaw_027/kusunagi/Fallout32009-08-0813-55-14-00.jpg
DogtoothCG
Are you sure your darkening the alpha? you could be darkening the "blue" channel which will definetly not fix your specularity. Also, check the materials in Nifskope and play with them an see if that fixes it.

ecksile
Double post =/. OK well i got rid of the gloss but now i have some really sharp shadows. I have smoothed out the meshes in blender using set smooth but the shadows are still really sharp.
