Another FCOM question- Missing meshes

Retribution

Recommended Posts

Well, I followed this FCOM install guide: http://devnull.sweetdanger.net/fcominstall.html to the tee. I started on a clean version of Oblivion, and have everything required, all patches, everything detailed in that mod. However, some NPCs ( I can think of an example, Raiders) have missing meshes. Also, all chests( I believe) are missing meshes. I'm using the test esp for this mod, which allows you to do coc 300testcell00 all the way through coc 300testcell30 to see if the mod is working properly. I'm currently in the process of re-installing oblivion and going through the entire process again, but I have a bad feeling I'll run into this problem again. Has anyone experienced this problem before, or know how to fix it? I can supply screenshots if needed, but I think that my description of the problem is adequate. Also, some items, such as certain cuirasses, are simply invisible. I just tried installing it again, being extremely careful to do everything the guide asked, but I'm still running into the same problems. I'm using BOSS, and FCOM is the only mod I have installed, and it's still not working.

Try getting the latest version of MMM and OOO. They use bsa's instead of the folders. For FCOM, once you have it installed, check the installed directory with the mod's directory to see if all the files are being copied to their correct location. My only guess is that during the install process some of the files are not being moved to their proper location. It has happened to me once on Vista with a mod. Maybe it's happening to you.

No, the very latest (development versions) use Bsa's. You can't get them from TESNexus. You have to go to the official forums and find their threads. They're there though. I have the MMM Bsa, not the OOO one though. Actually, you may not be able to get the OOO one anymore. I don't know.

I've just learned that this problem also extends to various clutter and books. Some books that are the exact same thing( A notice added by the mod called something like Thieving pillaging etc., which talks about the Amazons), are fine somewhere, but messed up in another place. Frankly, considering the popularity and complexity of this mod, I'm appalled at the lack of support, or for that matter, a good installation guide.
