Basic question but logical

...using NMM...

ok, after downloading mods, you then go to install them. Now on some mods it pops up "blah blah has already been loaded with Blah blah mod. Do you wish to overwrite?"

Question...What is the rule of thumb (if any) about which mod is the "correct" one?

AND most importantly, what about SKYRIM REDONE? Do you install that first and let other mods overwrye it or do you install everything else first and THEN Skyre and let it overwrite eveything else?

Thanks!

It depends. Some mod discriptions say that their mod should be high in the load order and let other mods overwrite it. Now say you've got these "other mods" first before stumbling accross this mod. In this case, choosing not to overwrite would be ideal.

There are some mods, eg texture mods, that modify the same things differently. Say you've got one that modifies the College of Winterhold, and you then decide to modify the rest of Skyrim with hd textures. Chances are, a message will ask if you wish to overwrite the changes made by your first mod. If this pops up, you need to decide which one you want to use-the hd textures or your original textures. If you prefer your original one, then click no and vice versa. What this does is it allows you to keep your old texture mod while enjoying, say, 90% of the awesome HD textures.

Bottom line, read through the discription of the mod for instructions before downloading and always remember that there is no correct answer*-it's all based on preference.
