raggidman
Been in HMV Oxford Street, London England this pm, playing Kameo, Elements of Power, Call of Duty 2, and King Kong demos. HMV has 3 pods in with the 'fast' version of the 360, and High Res Samsung wide screens - I was impressed. The colour and definition beat the pants off the PS2, Gamecube and XBox. The controllers are a mix. To me the usual 4 colour buttons are as stiff and unresponsive as they always are on game controllers, but the panning and movement in Call of Duty 2 is streets ahead - smooth and precise. There is not only more feel to the visuals, but also better integration generally of effects. Someone suggested I point my Thompson LMG at a plaster wall and shoot: saw dust raised and flying bits of brick, and left a group of bullet holes in the wall! Not everything is reactive, but the subtlety of some of what was there suggests a very real direction to the positive. Check your local stores, or if you are in the area, pop into HMV to see and feel for yourself! Might give you an idea of what Oblivion is going to be like... :D a story from the real raggidman - no software emulation.
