skiddo
Hi everyone, First post here just joined but will hopefully be around for a while... I've been racking my brain for the last few months trying to remember the name of a really old RPG that I played back on the school computer (Apple II) in the very early 80's. It was text based (I think) and the way you entered the commands for your character was by a number i.e. 44 meant attack with sword and 50 meant put on gasmask etc. There were also balrogs to fight - when one happened the word 'balrog' would go from top to bottom of the screen really slowly with flashing text and a continuous beeping noise. There was also a spider involved and in order to escape from a tough fight i think you could use its tunnels but you had to throw a gas bomb in there first or else you would get a message "stung by ..." and lose some health. Actually I think the game itself was named after the spider, but i could be wrong on that... Does this ring a bell with anyone?? It so on the tip of my tongue but just infuriatingly enough to drive me crazy. Thanks in advance,Skiddo.
Vagrant0
Best I could come up with was a big list over at Wikipedia... Maybe one of them will call out to you.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Apple_II_games Another option would be to try here;http://www.dosgames.com/forum/index.php They don't allow for discussions of abandonware and the like, so you're kinda on your own from that end.
