Final Fantasy 4 style Dark Knight Equipment

VERY good, nicely detailed.

I'd say my only issue is with the eyes, they're a bit too big IMO, and I think they're supposed to be pure white, though the metal texture is fine, but if you can I'd prefer it if it wasn't reflective like that picture shows.

Other than that, nice job. It gives me hope for this mod that someone so competent decided to step up.

That's fine. I can always ask for that seperately if you and anybody else who reads this thread isn't able to make it.

I think you could request help with that part though, I might be wrong, I'm not a modder.

I can tweak the eye size a little if needed, though it may just be the angle of that shot. They're actually a very light grey on the model. The candlelight in that room made it look off.

Here's where it stands at the moment: (Note this is in Blender, not in-game yet)

Trying to find a good balance between detail, and not going too crazy with a high poly-count, is proving to be a challenge with this intricate armor. Makes me a little nervous for all the crazy detail work on Kain's if I end up doing it afterwards. :pinch:

I understand. Of the two, I would say that Kain's armor is the much more intricate than DK Cecil's. Here's a couple images you can draw from that I like the looks of:

I'd say the former is less intricate than the latter, but I like the latter's color scheme better.

Yea, I prefer the 2nd one there too.

Made some decent progress today.

I tweaked the mask a little bit too, to make the eyes more narrow. I think it does look a bit better this way. With that, time for bed!

Yeah, you've got your work cut out for you with Kain's equipment, that's for sure.

As for the eyes, they definitely look better. I think the eyes are supposed to be more... eye shaped? I guess is the word, You know, sort of like an oval with points on the ends. I could be wrong about that.

Well, I re-shaped them a little more, and compared them to a close-up of the helmet. They're pretty darn close to exact now, I think.

Got in an argument with CK about making some other stuff work properly, so I didn't make a huge amount of progress tonight. But it's definitely getting close. Oh, and I've tested the boots in-game now as well.

Hope you guys like it so far!

All I have to say is, hell of a good work. Can't wait to see what it'll look like then it's finished.

Well damn. I was all excited to test it out in-game, and put a "DONE!" stamp on the first set. But apparently my Blender nif scripts aren't wanting to export all the finger bones correctly... again. So I've gotta figure out what it's doing.

So for now, ignore the f!#*ed up gauntlets, and enjoy the rest.

Holy s*** that's amazing...

Though, what about those white streaks on the front? I don't recall seeing any DK Cecil pics with things like that on it.

Are you referring to the straps on the chest plates? The reference pics I found all have them, though it varies between white and grey. Not sure why they're not the standard brown like the rest of the straps. More decorative, maybe? They *are* kinda distracting from the rest of the armor, so I'll probably tone them down a bit.

This is a screengrab that shows them pretty clearly. (Hopefully the link works lol)

Now if I can get the gauntlets to export correctly tonight after work, I'll be happy.

The sword & shield will be pretty easy and will go fast. Biggest parts still to do is resize it for the 'larger' men so the weight slider works right, and do the conversion for females.

As a heads-up, I'll be out of town all weekend so after tonight it'll be a few days before I can update again.

Yeah, those straps. Please do tone them down, they don't fit very well with the rest of the armor, because they don't fit the color scheme that well. A dark metallic grey or dark blue would probably work better. I've Googled some DK Cecil pics, and for those straps they seem to vary between what you've put there, just some streaks on one side of the armor, and a dark blue one here and there, and a few where they aren't there at all, though the last that tends to just be artwork.

Aside from those straps and of course the problem you're having with the gauntlets it actually looks pretty much perfect.

Thanks for being so willing to accommodate me on little nitpicks like this, every little bit helps.

Since I play a female Argonian most of the time I'm glad to hear there will be a female conversion, though I have a hard time imagining what that'll look like. I'm also wondering how the helmet will look on a beast character. I'm sure it'll be a nice surprise.

I've been waiting for this for a long time, so as long as you finish it I don't mind if it takes a while. Have a nice time this weekend, see you.

P.S. One last thing, did you manage to find anybody to help with the enchantment I asked for?
