greengun222
Say for example the mod was something like a rexture replacer for the steel armour, then if you delete the textures the armour will have no textures. But is the mod did something like add a race to the game then deleting all the relevant files would get rid of the race.
Megatarius
If it's a retexture of a standard armor, go ahead and delete the files. The textures.bsa file has everything the game needs, in the exact same folder structure as what's in your Data folder. That's how the game works. If it detects a resource in your Data folder trees, it will use it, regardless of whether it breaks anything, looks bad, breaks lore, or causes a crash. If it doesn't detect anything, it turns to the .bsa files with their boring vanilla content. So go ahead and delete to your heart's content. If you delete all resources for a race, and the .esp defining that race, the race will indeed vanish, and any characters of that race will be partially or wholly invisible. Use this to remove mods that contain multiple files scattered everywhere: http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=7557 It works by you unzipping (again) the mod you want to delete, but this time into a specified "remove" folder. Then, it looks at the files in there, and deletes them from your Data folder. It sometimes leaves empty folders behind.
