I really need help.

Hey everyone,

I'm really in need of help from anyone who's better with computers than myself. A few months back, I attempted to install SKSE, (for Skyrim, by the way) and have royally screwed something up with NMM in the process. I can't even be sure what I did, but every time I try to run NMM it just shows me this box that says:

"You are missing C:\Program Files

(x86)\Steam\SteamApps\downloading\72850\Data\skyrim.esm

Please verify your game install and ensure (^That^) is present."

I've tried everything, completely restored my computer to it's default settings (for another reason as well), uninstalled and re-installed Skyrim, Steam, and NMM but nothing seems to fix it. Steam works just fine, and the game plays perfectly. I just can't get NMM to work. Oblivion on NMM works as well, it's just Skyrim NMM. I'm really getting tired of using Steam only, as the best stuff is on here.

Someone, please help this extremely computer-illiterate person. Also, please keep the mean comments to yourself if you can, yes I should have never attempted to install it not knowing how to do squat, and I did follow a tutorial but I made one wrong move and moved one folder to the wrong place. I can guarantee I won't be trying it again, if I can even get it fixed.

Thank you all for the help!

Greetings,

I am very bad at computer, so I do not know if it will help you, but did you try the option of "Verify Integrity of Game Cache" in steam ?

The correct location for Skyrim.esm is "your install drive and folder(s)>\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim\Data" I do not know if it could help you, but we never know

Sorry for my bad english.

No apologies needed, your English is fine

I have tried this now, and it says "1 file(s) failed to validate and will be reacquired."

NMM still doesn't want to open, I'm not sure what it could be. It seems to only be a problem with Skyrim NMM, because it works fine with my other games. Could that mean something?

**I have just tried to download off of Nexus, and it caused it to open no problem after about 6 months of trying to get it open. But now it is saying the version I have is so old that I can only open in Offline Mode. I have opened in Offline Mode, but when I click on update NMM, it doesn't do anything. Is that an easy thing to fix?

I thank you very much!

Ah, I think I have solved the problem! Or it seems to have solved itself. I have updated it from the website itself and now runs like normal. I thank you for the help :)

Glad to know that my English is not bad ^^

Good news that your problem is solved, I was going to tell you exactly to download the update NMM directly on the site, I had problems of updates also, because I wanted at all costs to update directly from the program, when in fact it was need to update on the website :)

Good return in Skyrim and thank you for adding to your friends, I'll give you a Kudos as is my habit for those who join my friends list !
