Summon scripts! Just some quick help

i wanna apologize ahead of time if there's already a forum up with this. search brings up a lot of forums and i don't exactly see what i am looking for or i get confused.

 

 

 

 

 

hey yall i been making some custom summons and my own npcs. Now i understand how to make a summon spell for myself.

but what do i have to change if i want to make a summon spell for a NPC?

 

if i just give my summon spell i made for me based from:

to a npc. will it work? or will the creature be summoned to me or? whats gonna happen. the script does say player but maybe i dont understand all the scripting language that great. im worried that the spell will make the npc summon something on me.. lol

if theres a guide how to make a summon spell for a npc and also changing a npc's summon limit, please let me know. it would be apprciated.

The tutorial you linked to is for the player and would need some serious adapting to use for NPC's if it can even be done. I use it for my creatures that are summons only and not permanent companions. My companions have a different script and I'm not sure how to adapt that for NPC's.

 

To see how to summon multiple creatures of the same type, or even different ones, you could take a look at my Vampire Bats mod spell script. Note that this is still only for the player though. There are two esps...one is for one bat and the other for three bats. The three is the one you would look at.

For NPC's:

Take a look at the Spriggan in the CS. She summons a bear and that spell is a Power, but you could change it to a Lesser Power or ordinary spell.

 

The spell itself is called pwSprigganSummonBear. I'm using this one as an example. There are also summon spells for most vanilla creatures in the spell creation form. Just create it like any other spell.

 

You would just drag that spell, or create a new one with a new ID, to your NPC's spell list. If you wanted custom creatures to summon that would require scripts, where the above don't.

 

To make it so the NPC summons more than one creature you would probably do it by making the required number of summon spells each with their own ID and adding them to your NPC spell list. So, if you want the NPC to summon three bears or whatever, you make three separate custom spells. No need for scripts.

That way as far as the CS or the game knows they are all different spells.

 

However, I haven't tried this so don't take my word for it, but it works for scripted spells as in my Bats mod.
