rdamstrom Posted August 13, 2009 Share Posted August 13, 2009 Hi I am working on a new breed of companion mod,while other mods focus on combat my mod try's to look at the bigger picture and give the companion a larger role in the game.while focus is female companions it could be adaptable to most anything.Highlights--Wardrobes - companions are able to dress and undress themselves based on the Wardrobes----given to them and can tell the difference casual and skimpy based on a rating system--Movement - a companion can move around house that has been set up and not be confined to----a single room--Assignable Tasks - companions can be assign a task with having to use hard coded packages----A guard or maid position could be assigned to any companion--Attitude - companions have certain attributes that monitor the care that you give them----and will reward your efforts by wearing sexy clothes and maybe some pleasant dialogThe Ideal house--Not a trophy house - companions are a thing of beauty and expect to be maintained in a----beautiful house--Lots of bed space - no one can have just one companion--A usable bath or a near by pond to bath in--A usable toilet - even companions have to peeOther usable property's--Inns--Large Farms--CastlesI know that all of these things can be found but most already have npc's and questsand I don't think that they would take kindly to me ripping all of that out and becauseit would have to be mastered to my mod to work.so if you should have such a workin progress, an abandon or neglected house that might fit the bill or you need a newproject to work on let me know. many property's will be need. rdamstrom Posted August 13, 2009 Author Share Posted August 13, 2009 wait for what the first stage of the mod is nearly complete I should be ready to do some beta testing soon after OBSE v18 is released.OBSE is a bit buggy right now and the user functions are needed to put the finishing touches. that is what I am doing now. setting up a house doesn't take much time I've done some work on the chorrol house to test some things out but can't do much to it without breaking the quest. besides I'd really like something out of town with all of the stuff listed so I can work out the scripts for the added features. presently companions are able to function well enough in one room houses and rooms with bed and chairs without any mods to the house.The dialog still needs some work but I want to get out there so people can play with it and give some feedback I would like to make alternate plug in dialogs so people can choose or make there own. after I get their Attitude's fine tuned stage 2 will put a spin on things, companions who have earn enough money won't be interested if following you but will show up in some Inn's and try to woo you out of some of your cash. as long as they can keep getting you to support them in this way they will continue to come in and out of your life (Keeped companions)companions in you care will remain with you unless you let them go hungry for too long. they will leave to try to make their way on their own. some will show up as beggars and some as banditssome will end up in jail for stealing some may get captured and need to be rescued.because thesecompanions are so efficient at gathering we need to find new ways to spend our money.would also like to get some feedback on using computer voices for dialog. open mary has a some open source voices that don't sound to bad. http://mary.dfki.de/not as nice as audrey but she is copy writed and can't be distributed http://www.research.att.com/~ttsweb/tts/demo.php Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I always was disappointed in the small roles of most companion mods, and was actually somewhat tempted to start making sets of story-rich companions, but I'll never have the time. I do have one suggestion, though. By the sound of it, you're making companions need food and such? How about you make it so that one can toggle that? I mean, I'm all up for more-immersive companions, but I stay away from all hunger/thirst/sleep mods, just not my thing. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
rdamstrom Posted August 13, 2009 Author Share Posted August 13, 2009 if I have an Idea of what people want I can supply alternate token scripts for them to use and they can always make there own custom versions as well as dialog. I can't spend all my time creating the perfect companion for everyone but I can guide them and supply them with a good set of tools to work with.
