Jeff Baker or Craig Sechler?

Here's a topic to get your brains active. Who do you prefer, Jeff Baker or Craig Sechler, and why?

 

Jeff Baker plays several voices throughout the TES series, most notably the Male Dunmer in TES3. Craig Sechler is noted for his voice acting of all the male elves in TES4. Here is a good drawing I've seen of him, for reference:

I wish I could find a photo of Jeff Baker but he seems to be particularly shy.

 

If you were to ask of my opinion in the matter, well, I have a few answers. When it comes to the question of strictly, "TES3 Male Dunmer or TES4 Male Dunmer," I very much prefer the Dunmer voice (Baker's) for Morrowind. It seemed to suit them better, and it made sense that breathing in all that ash gave them croaky voices. However, I think Sechler's voice was good for the High Elves and Wood Elves, but he made the Dunmer men less formidable. Perhaps they chose him to do their voice simply because Jeff Baker came down with a case of throat cancer afterwards. Only joking, but still... :rolleyes: I liked his voice far better than the TES3 wood elves, but I did like the TES3 High Elves, except they didn't have much of an accent for us Americans.

 

I could talk all day about this, but it really isn't that important in my life, just a question of the day.

wow,thats a good question. Having played morrowind and Oblivion(which I prefer) comparing voices is a bit of a challenge.

I see your point about the gravely tone for that race and yes it is fitting in a way. But I prefer Craig Sechler. His voice just suits some races better IMO. It would have been nice to have individual voices for each race. I could see Casy Kasim as an argonian myself..lol

But I quess like in games we all have a voice preference as well. While both are fitting voices and I like both I prefer the latter. :bunny:

TES III male dumner sounds badass and awesome. TES IV dunmer... well they're not as cool

I like Jeff Baker better. :yes:

If I could say one thing on the subject, I have a soft spot for good looking middle-aged men. That's probably the main reason why I like Sechler, and he has a good voice to match.

 

*sigh* would someone PLEASE take a photo of poor old Jeff Baker? He can't hide in the studio forever! I know you're reading this, Bethesda spies!
