gigantibyte
Wow. Just trying to create a holodisk with a custom recording. Thought it would be simple, but no... Right now, I'm having trouble creating a new sound in Miscellaneous > Sound. No matter if I try a wav file, or mp3s compressed at different rates, nothing will play. I can test play the existing sounds in the object window just fine. But even if I use the BSA unpacker in FOMM to extract an existing wav, the file won't play. I sometimes get a message "Audio: Can't open file". If someone can kick me in the right direction, it would be very appriciated. Thanks. (Edit: I meant "custom". There doesn't seem to be a way to edit topic titles in this forum.)
ElijahHouck
I believe it has to be in mono format, if I remember correctly. I had the same problem a while back, and I think that was the solution.

ElijahHouck
Oh, didn't see your bit on the holodisk. I also can't get any holodisk to play. When I click my holodisk in-game, it won't play any sound. Dead silent.

When I click my holodisk in-game, it won't play any sound. Dead silent. Forgetting sound issues, there sure seems to be a roundabout way to connect a sound file to a holodisk. The holodisk is connected to a topic, the topic is created in a quest, then the topic response must be edited to add a sound file. But you just can't add a sound file directly, you have to create a resource the contains the sound. At least those are the steps I'm assuming one must take, but since I haven't been successful yet, perhaps I'm going about this wrong. I'm also confused with this Edit Response window. Why is the Voice Type section under Audio becoming populated with a bunch of items I didn't select like, MaleAdult02, MaleAdult04, FemaleAdult02, etc.? What's this section even for? ElijahHouck
Those are the same steps I took, no luck here either :( .
Kuribo827
I also have interest in adding custom sounds. So I'll definitely be keeping an eye on this thread.
Wikinger9048
You change the audio files into .OGG files, put it in a Fallout folder and done. You can add this Sounds to a mod like the other things.

You can add this Sounds to a mod like the other things. You make it sound so easy, I must be missing something over here. But... No difference with Ogg, in mono and stereo, 96 & 128K. In geck I get the warning "Audio: Could not open file". I ignored the errors and tried in-game, but the holodisk is empty. I thought it might be a Vista problem, but I get the same results in XP. :(
Dyadya_Fedor
GECK can play only .WAV files. You must specify GetIsID condition in your topic (must be same to Speaker in your Note)Try different program to encode .OGG files(when i tried "Free Audio Converter" game won't play them, another programm works well)and,of course, you must put this .OGG in right place (sounds\voice\Your plugin name\Yor speaker Voice Type (see in Voice Type section))
