Alastriona brought up the rear of the group, hesitant to be at the forefront when she wore no armor. As they entered the Goblinwatch, she felt a shiver run down her spine - the goblins' growls were audible, ringing through the halls. She cast her Torch Light spell, illuminating the dim interior with a bright, warm glow, followed by a Wizard Eye. She closed her own eyes and watched as the interior walls became transparent, giving way to a strong blue hue. Any foes that the spell could detect would appear behind her eyelids...

"My spell can't detect anything right now," she whispered, opening her eyes again and moving down the stairs in her slippered feet, "Go ahead and open that door, Kelon. I'm ready."

The scratching behind the door gave her pause, though, and she nervously prepared a Static Charge, her trembling fingers contradicting the confidence in her voice.

With the other backed behind him Kelon quickly opened up the door and were it not for his training and quick reflexes, his face would have been torn off by the angered giant rat that leaped at him when he opened the door. With a quick upward slice of his sword the rats head was cleaved in two and it's body hit against Kel's torso with a loud thud, knocking Kelon back a few steps. Getting his footing back Kelon let out a laugh. "Well now that's what I call a rodent of unusual size.... A bite from that would have hurt." He said as he examined the beast. "We have enough potions of healing with us right?" He asked as he got a good look at the large rat's teeth.

Ali was now draped around Kelon's shoulders, having jumped on top of him when she saw the rat. This, of course, was accompanied by an earsplitting squeal and punctuated by two Flame Arrows that had barely missed torching the paladin's ears. Her blue eyes were as wide as saucers, and her already pale hands clutched at her comrade's shoulders, making her knuckles stark white.

"Is...it...it's...d-d-dead...right?"

The last word was more of a squeak than actual speech.

Kelon nearly fell over when Ali climbed up him, her being taller than him had set him off balance. "It's alright Ali it's alright." He said, trying to get her to calm down. "The beast is indeed dead but it was only a rat, nothing to be scared of, you're safe." He reassured her, not judging her in the slightest for her fears, after all he nearly wet his pants of shock when the thing jumped out at him.

"Now then, lets proceed down this hall and see where it leads yes?"

Ali slowly slid down from Kelon's shoulders, swallowed hard, and then nodded, following him down the corridor and around a corner...

...to an intricately carved door.

The sorceress hesitated, going up to the door carefully and laying her hand on its surface. Beyond, she could hear goblin growls. Closing her eyes again, she allowed the Wizard Eye to do its work. Though it could not see far, as her skill level was novice at best, it did detect a few foes nearby.

"Several goblins," she mouthed, afraid to even whisper for fear that their enemies would hear her, "right near the door."

Sven gulped as he heard Ali's words. Several goblins... Great.

He readied an arrow and backed away from the door a considerable distance, shaking in excitement and fear. He could very well die today, but he was determined to live another day.

"I'm ready..."

Kelon let our a slow breath when catching Ali's warning. He slowly moved in front of Ali and pressed up against the door, he looked back and made sure everyone was ready, then tuned the door handle and rammed it open, knocking one of the goblins to the floor. He made a quick cut into one nearby before stepping back and slamming the door closed again. "Shoot whatever comes through!" He said as he clung to the door's handle, hoping that when the goblins tried to pull it open, he would be able to keep it closed enough that they wouldn't be able to fit through. Any hands, arms, or faces that might try and squeeze through the cracks Kelon hoped would be filled with arrows and fire before it could reach him.

The goblins forced the door open once more, and when Ali saw an opportunity, she rapidly fired a Flame Arrow and a Static Charge, hitting two separate goblins in the chest and shoulder. By the garb of one, she recognized it as significantly higher ranked than the others...

"Shamans!" the sorceress yelled, "They've got shamans!"

"Oh great!" Sven said as he crookedly shot an arrow into the leg of a goblin. One came up quite close to him, so he punched it in the face and watched it fly backward. Luckily that was a small one, or else he wouldn't have been able to do that.

He pulled back on his bowstring and "kissed" his fingers, letting the string pull back to be even with his mouth. He exhaled and let an arrow loose all in one go, and found to his satisfaction that he hit a goblin square in the eye socket. He made a note to try this method every time he loosed an arrow, and hit two more goblins in the chest and neck, respectively.
