Failure of closing the command console for cheating

Console commands are not cheats unless you use them that way.

The standard keyboard uses the tilde key "~" to open , then close the console. IF you have caps lock on, that can cause a problem.

Other language keyboards may not have the ~ key set to the same scan code as English and may not even have that key at all. Typically, it will be the key to the immediate left of the number 1 key - but not always. :whistling:

There are some computers - laptops mostly, that disable the ~ key when a infrared device (IR) is active on the computer - if you have one, disable the IR ( it is rare for it to be used for anything anyway)

There are programs that allow remapping keys - just be careful that you don't remap a key that you need in some other program, ( I use Scroll lock, Break/Pause or print screen keys for remapping) I use the FREE AutoHotkey program for that - link - But there are others.

Typical sequence - press ~ type in command, press Enter, then press ~ again to close. The command takes effect on closing. Some actions require the command to be typed in again to stop the action. TCL is one example, when started, it will stay active until you repeat the sequence

~ TCL, enter, and ~ to end.
