Resolution problem and moon glitch

Hi guys, first post here. How is everyone doing? :) I like Fallout 3 a lot and I am considering replaying it soon.

I have recently upgraded to Windows 7 x64. When I load up Fallout 3, I have two problems. First problem is that I cannot start in 1080p full screen mode. The game will try to maximize to full screen mode, fall back to a maximized window and then freeze. I thought maybe it is a refresh rate issue, so I tried to force iFPS = 50 in FalloutPref.ini. The problem persists.

The second problem I have is that if I switch to a lower resolution (e.g. 1380x768), the game would work but the moon texture would be missing. (The texture is replaced by a black hole.) At first I thought it was because of a hi-res moon mod that I installed. So I removed it and the problem persists.

I'm currently using nVidia Geforce 9600 GT in SLI and nVidia Geforce driver 182.06 Vista x64. (I am forced to use the Vista driver for now because my LCD TV doesn't support auto resizing and all of the existing Win7 driver have overscan problems.) I am using Fallout 3 v1.7 official patch with all DLC installed. The only mods that I have installed are Realistic_Gunshot_Sounds v1.3-23, HiRezLand v2.19 and LadyDeadlock AtmosphericSunGlare v1.01-555.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance! :)

My old OS was Windows Vista x86 Business Edition.

BTW I figured out the moon problem. It turns out when I tested the moon texture, the game was having a lunar eclipse (duh!). So the moon problem is a non-issue.

I also managed to get the game running at 1080i (but not 1080p). But to do so, I have to switch my desktop to 1080i first before starting the game. Any idea how I can force 1080p in Fallout 3? Thx!
