Darkavior
As a huge fallout fan, there is something that bugged me a lot (except the lame graphics and poor shooter/brawler gameplay), its the relevance of your involvment in the world, while you can say you affect the world with your deeds , you never really get recongnition or power in the world, and this is something i would like to see, a storyline where you can go through diffrent paths and either claim power and respect or work under the radar as the underdog and i'l elaborate on it in a bit. also bothers me is that the world isnt linked at all, you can basically save one towns electricity or econmoy with no impact on the rest of the world, no one talks about how you restored power to the hotel in novac, no influx of travelers go to goodsprings to drink from the fresh water you made available through repairing the water supply, this is crucial for making a living believable world. now about the power and recognition or in contrast working under the radar, heres an example, say you want to kill a certain leader of some group, but you have a reputation for being tretchorous (sorry for bad spelling english isnt my main language), so the leader will be either cautious or reluctent to meet you or even let you go in his base or camp, this means that your deeds in the world as either a rich person or someone with influence over people might attract certain reactions from diffrent factions and people in the world, if you manage to own or control a city and develop it to like a security company by recruiting people and killing theyre leaders to win them over, so people will fear you, this is of course a very specific and exaggerated example but its mainly given to prove a point. also, people need to cross you, betray you , no one does that in fallout , so for example if you worked for someone and he crossed you and you are known for having a talent for revenge , he'll do anything to prevent you from getting to him, unless, you are a ghost, someone who does things without no one knowing its you, a mysterious killer , then you might be able to slip in and take your revenge , or in the contrary you are a man of power or riches and you can make his partners ban him and have a take of theyre organization and run some stuff there. i hope i make my point, also there is the matter of karma which is nice but it needs smarter implementationexample #1: you go into feinds camp and you kill them all you get good karma but then you take something from theyre footlocker , OH OH! BAD KARMA! , are you f***ing kidding me? this kind of system needs to be put in more efficently and correctly, a man who is thought of as good, or a man that opts for good causes should'nt be attracted by someone like caesar, and vice versa Edited February 27, 2014 by Darkavior
DoctorKaizeld
note on the Fiend issue, there are mods to fix that issue. the reason it does that at times is because you can actually ally with the Fiends at a point in the game. either way stealing is stealing and is bad karma either way. look up the rules of karma. also if you want to be taken seriously I recommend you don't start out by saying the game sucks. I get its your opinion, but you really don't need to say that at all. there are characters who betray you during the game and people do talk about what you've done. the problem lies in that most of this is through the radio. also if you haven't noticed the radio is the only form of news in NV and the capital wasteland other then stories spread by word of mouth. the reason people don't hail you in one town because you save another town comes from the fact that they don't know about it. because honestly think about it, you're in a bar and some guy starts talkin about how he watched someone go in and kill all of the escaped convicts in Primm single handedly, then he went to the prison and had a prisoner pardoned so he could become the new sheriff (this is the cannon event). do you honestly think you would believe that? I sure as hell wouldn't! that guys probably just tryin to swindle you into buying him a drink. also Caesar is "bad" not bad. to him the NCR are the bad guys and vice versa for the NCR. he is simply portrayed as the "bad guy" typically. so he, as a guy who whole heartedly believes he is doing good, would totally be supportive of someone who helps people out.
