thehim87
Hello everyone, I'm trying to learn to use wrye bash. But I have a problem. I read carefully the instructions on several websites (wrye's, wiki) concerning the intsallers tab. I wanted to change load order. But i found nothing in there. I tried to rignt click to enable BAIN, but i can't. It's blanck. I when i try to slip archives or folders of mods in the bash installer folder, nothing happens.Note : my "Oblivion mods" folder is oustide of my vanilla oblivion folder. And I had to reinstall Wrye bash after deleting a previous data folder that was messed up with mods replacing but my backup folder.Oh, and in my mods tab, i can't find my "bash patch". Thanks for your help. Meanwhile i will be trying to work on with OBMM
malonn
Is the Bash Installers folder in \Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion Mods? If not, any archives or projects you have won't show up. Check to see if your Bashed Patch is in your \Data folder. If not, there is an extra one in \Oblivion\Mopy\Extras. Copy that to your \Data folder. thehim87
Thanks for the reply Yes there is a Bash installers folder file in "Oblivion Mods". But until then it wasn't my Oblivion folder. I have drag "Oblivion mods into my Oblivion folder, but yet nothing appears in the installers tab. Note that I haven't settled my directory in the Programs files and that I renamed "Bethesda Softworks" to "Game" following clean installation hints. malonn
There is really no need to rename "Bethesda Softworks" to "Game". I'd change it back if I were you. Maybe you got confused on the instructions for those running Vista. It is recommended to install Oblivion in a folder other than "Program Files" because of enhanced security monitoring (or just turn off UAC). Often that folder is "Games". For example: C:\Games\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion\Data etc. I recommend changing your folder back to "Bethesda Softworks". Also, "Oblivion Mods" isn't supposed to be in your "Oblivion" folder. It is supposed to be in \Bethesda Softworks\ folder. That's why they aren't showing up in your installers tab. Wrye Bash looks for mods in \Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion Mods\Bash Installers. If the file is outside of that then it won't find them.
thehim87
rahknow that I am trying to rename my files, autorisation acces is refused. I connot rename them nor supress them. I'm using Vista of course. Do you know a way around ? BTW after doing the files reordering and renaming it seems that it corrupted my save game files, all of them (fortunately i am running a character only to test the game because i a working on a combination of lots of mods). Have an idea how to recover. I want to be sure it's linked to my file manipulation. Because before launching oblivion (foolish) i installed a small mod (rainbow in tamriel). But after testing i can start a newgame with this on and my new save don't crash.

malonn
It sounds like you have UAC enabled. Either turn it off, or install Oblivion to a folder other than "Program Files".
