The Legitimacy of Youtube debate

Hello i thought i would liven things up a bit with a debate game so to speak called the "Legitimacy Of Youtube. Have you ever wondered on to youtube and watched some really possibly fake or legit content on youtube that you yourself would have liked to have a real debate about, but had no where to go because it was so random that you couldn't find a place to discus it in a civil fashion  . Well this is a place for you, there is a lot of weird and mysterious stuff on youtube that simply defies everyday thinking that it just doesn't seem real or Legit.

Now is time to take some of that youtube content and have a real debate whether or not its real or not, as I mentioned before.

This could be a great archive of debunked and proven videos of youtube if we put our minds to it. There is so much content on the tubes that is so wacky that really needs a good thrashing of its legitness.

Okay i will start.

Russians on the moon

Interesting, did it really happen??.. I never heard of this part of history before.

Is this fact or fiction???, You decide.

On one hand, anyone, from anywhere, with access to some simple video editing software, an idea, and a large amount of free time can fake just about anything. In fact, there are groups of people who do little more than try to one-up eachother by making this stuff and seeing how many people believe it. Combined with the unlikelihood of most of those people who are posting this stuff actually being privy to anything that isn't common knowledge, as well as the chances that someone who actually knows something would be quickly shut down by anyone who wants them shut down, and the chances of anything being legit become almost nil. People who would actually want to leak something meaningful have far more secure and direct means of sharing that information.

On the other hand, when Discovery channel airs shows about mythical monsters, the History channel with Ancient Aliens, and such, it makes it hard to believe anything that is being produced. Shows like this are not made for showcasing their scientific integrity, they are made to garner ratings, or to pose a possibility of something being a certain way. Meanwhile you have schools teaching Intelligent Design with the same degree of probability as Evolution, treating it as fact and totally sidestepping the actual science involved or what defines them as theories. We might as well be back in the dark ages, throwing salt over our shoulder, and avoiding ladders and black cats.

On the other hand, It doesn't really matter. Even if something was leaked it can quickly be pulled, covered up, passed off as a hoax, and stricken from the record. Like everything else, a few years later nobody outside the tinfoil hat community, nobody will remember or care about it since it isn't a current concern. Even in the age when there is a digital archive of every news show being recorded, nobody actually pays much attention to all the digital records which end up going missing or being redacted since the reasons for those things being removed range from everything from unapproved comments to misstatement of facts.

The paradox of the internet, youtube, take it with a grain of salt. If anything try to find actual evidence of it on the net with actual proven facts that video in question is legit or a hoax. Its a 50 50% chance that it could be real or not.

There is some stuff out here that seem so obvious to be true that even the video itself can't be questioned, but with a good eye anything could lose its credibility in a instant.

Its hard to find credible sources on YouTube these days, 70% of it is filled with nonsense.

I think some of these conspiracy theories might be legit, but most are certainly heaps of BS. But its incredibly difficult if not impossible to know if they're legit. We do know that governments keep secrets, and occasionally there will be whistle blowers. And they do quite a good job of discrediting whistle blowers.

I think its reasonably likely the US, and other governments knows the answer to the question of "are we alone in the universe". Because there is a motive for wanting to keep such a thing secret. It would be complete disaster for world religion, and the cultural consequences couldn't be reversed. There have also been numerous whistle blowers that have came forward, just to be discredited. Some of them high ranking military officers. I also find it odd that in the beginning, the government was sorta forthcoming about information, to then decide at one point in time to deny it entirely. And I find that to be suspicious, which gives me more of a reason to suspect that they're hiding something.

I also believe they found microbial life on Mars, as well as ancient fossils of some more complex organisms, and NASA is keeping a lid on it, and discrediting information that does leak out. I've head that Mars may have had water oceans as early as 60-100m years ago, instead of the billions of years ago that was previously suspected. This would make it more likely that more complex organisms would have evolved.

I can't take youtube debates seriously. Though I have gotten some chuckles and some WTF moments out of them.

Like yesterday, browsing along and found in a video about UFO and in the comments a person talking about how they didn't think UFOs were real. The reason, we (humans) have not put enough junk into space for aliens to create a space ship. Huh?!?

I thought the person was trolling, but they defended their position ending a lengthy debate with others with, 'you are not smart enough to understand my theory'.

As for the videos, I use them as entertainment.

I believe we are not alone, but there is a lot of stuff on youtube you would be surprised that exist, but hard to believe at the same time. I always end up on the weird side when looking up History, the thing is most stuff if you try finding some real documentaries because i was bored. You mostly wined up on the weird side, even if you try your hardest to avoid it.

This is a good place for people who just feel like talking about what kinds for experiences they have on youtube. Weird or not the internet is a strange place.
